Prom attendees are referred through partner organizations that provide services to individuals who have experienced human trafficking or domestic violence. There are no gender requirements to participate. Our prom is intentionally inclusive and designed to honor survivors of all identities and life stages in a safe, supportive environment.
The prom is a private, invitation-only event and is open to individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria:
There is no cost for attendees, service vendors, or volunteers to participate in the prom. The Prom Project of Michigan provides all necessary services to ensure a fully accessible and dignified experience, including hair, nails, makeup, and childcare. Our commitment is rooted in the belief that financial barriers should never prevent someone from participating.
We intentionally remove obstacles that could limit an attendee’s ability to fully enjoy and feel celebrated during this special evening.
Attire is not a barrier to attending the prom. No individual referred through our partner organizations will be denied participation due to lack of formal clothing. Our volunteers ensure that every attendee has the opportunity to select an outfit that allows them to feel confident, respected, and celebrated.
We welcome partnerships with organizations committed to addressing human trafficking and domestic violence. Collaboration is central to our mission, and we value working alongside partners who share our dedication to survivor-centered impact.
To explore partnership opportunities, please contact us. We would be glad to discuss how your organization can become involved and contribute to this important work.
Volunteers are essential to the success of our events, and we are grateful for the time, care, and commitment they bring to The Prom Project of Michigan. Their efforts make it possible to create safe, meaningful, and celebratory experiences for survivors.
Individuals interested in volunteering are encouraged to complete the online form under “Contact Us” or email thepromprojectmichigan@gmail.com. A member of our team will follow up with additional information.
Because childcare is provided during prom events, volunteers may be required to submit references to verify character and suitability. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. Those under 18 years of age must submit a parent or guardian consent form prior to participation.
